Apply for a Certificate

Application Procedure:

  1. Apply for a certificate using one of the ways listed below (Note you'll have to use the same method for certificate download).

  2. Contact your local/university RA (Registration Authority) to provide a valid photo id in person.

  3. You will be notified by email to download your certificate. Please ensure you use the SAME method to download your certificate otherwise you won't be able to match it with the corresponding private key.

Use the CA Portal from your favourite browser to apply, renew and revoke certificates issued from the UKCA.

Best for: Users who possess a single personal certificate; RA Operators; those who won't/cannot install Java on their machine; changing email address in a personal certificate at renewal
